A cultural touchstone, India’s silk-weaving dates back to 2450–2000 BCE and is a craft that has been meticulously perfected over time.
Around 70% of the country’s silk weaving industry is based in Karnataka, a state in south-western India, known for its lavish temples. This vibrant region is where our Indian silk dupions were hand-loomed by individual families.
A product of India’s cottage industry, individual families weave silk on their own handlooms, making unique, one-off fabrics that you can’t find anywhere else.
Unlike mass-produced silk, the fabrics from these families are made using fibres from wild silkworms. This creates luxuriously textured or slubbed textiles, with one-of-a-kind characteristics that are embraced as the nature of the cloth.

With their iridescent sheens and vibrant colours, our deadstock Indian silk dupions are the epitome of luxury craftsmanship. And they’re all 30% OFF.
